When automatic renewal is turned on for Office 365 Home or Personal, you’ll be billed for your subscription on your renewal date. If you turn off automatic renewal, your subscription will expire on the date shown, and you won't be billed in the future.
Turn off Office 365 auto-renewal
If you have subscribed to one of the editions of Office 365, then you probably know that your subscription will be automatically renewed at the end of your subscription term using the same credit card that you used to subscribe to Office 365.
For instance, if you have subscribed to 12 months, Microsoft will automatically renew your subscription at the end of the 12th month, and your credit card will be charged for the same unless the card has expired or lacking sufficient balance required for the renewal.
Microsoft does send an email about a month prior to the renewal date to let subscribers make necessary changes to their account to cancel the subscription or turn off the auto-renewal.
